Statement from and AMEC Records Regarding the Soul Fest AZ Event and AMEC Records is gravely disappointed with the unintended outcome at Soul Fest AZ held on April 25.  Grammy-award winning R&B artist R. Kelly was selected to perform as the headliner for the annual concert. Unfortunately, he chose to not perform after his arrival and subsequently left the venue shortly after his scheduled performance time.
The promoters would like the public to know that they are doing everything they can to correct this unfortunate situation.  They are also working to address misinformation being circulated amongst the public.  R. Kelly was paid $70,000 in cash prior to his arrival, and was offered additional $15,000 cash from on-site box office sales, as well as revenue from pre-sold tickets from ticket vendors, Zia Records and ShowClix.  The reason he chose to break his commitment to ticketholders on the date of his performance is unknown.  All of the remaining advertised artists performed at the venue.
The promoters are working with the ticket vendors to provide full refunds to any ticketholder who wishes to receive repayment.  Ticketholders should visit for more information.
