Budget cuts and fire danger forced some Arizona communities to pull the plug on the pyrotechnics, but across the Valley people celebrated the Fourth of July with fun, food and fabulous fireworks.

The Valley's largest fireworks show lit up the skies over central Phoenix as the city hosted the 25th Freedom Wireless Fabulous Phoenix Fourth Sunday at Steele Indian School Park.

Besides the big fireworks, there were three stages with local entertainment, a huge misting area to cool off, inflatable rides and a classic-car exhibit that brought sizzling ends to a scorching day marking America’s 234th birthday.
