Glenn, executive assistant to the president/CEO of ASU Foundation, successfully attained CAP rating in June. She has 17 years of professional administrative experience as well as 10 years of knowledge with office management and event coordination. Lisa has been a member of the VOTS Chapter since June 2007. Prior to her position with ASU Foundation, she held administrative positions with the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce, WESTMARC and Arizona Secretary of State Jan Brewer. Glenn, along with other staff at ASU Foundation, created an internal administrative professionals program where administrative staff could become familiar with office policy and procedures and learn additional skills in order to make their jobs easier. Lisa stated, “Being a part of IAAP has given me the opportunity to network with other professionals in my field and has exposed me to various educational programs that I was unaware of in the past.†The International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), the acknowledged leader in the career development of administrative professionals, offers two professional ratings, certified professional secretary (CPS) and certified administrative professional (CAP); the recognized standards of proficiency. Certification demonstrates employees are serious about advancing their career while increasing their skills and knowledge by studying and passing the exams. Certification provides support staff with the necessary tools to run an efficient office and ensures continuing education. Many colleges and universities offer course credit after attaining certification. Those who attain IAAP certification are required to recertify every five years. Recertification keeps support staff on the cutting edge of new technologies and office procedures while maintaining the high standards of certification. |

Lisa Glenn, an International Association of Administrative Professionals Valley of the Sun (VOTS) Chapter member has achieved certification of Certified Administrative Professional (CAP).
