Hitman Sports Training will hold a clinic with free football for youths 6 to 18 years of age Saturday July 31, from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m., at Esteban Park (32nd Street and Roeser Rd.) in Phoenix.
Organizers say former NFL and NCAA coaches will be on hand to conduct the clinic.
Alfred Ellis Gross, Jr., known as Coach Al “Bubba†Gross, is a strength and conditioning specialist, motivational speaker and creator of Hitman Sports. He is a former NFL player who signed with the Cleveland Browns in 1983 and played defensive safety for five years before a knee injury ended his NFL career.
In talking about the goals of Hitman Sports, Coach Gross says, “It’s simple, we love working with the youth of tomorrow. We hope we can leave a lasting impression with them that will carry them through life. My partners and I look to help the kids who parents cannot afford the fees for football. We believe every child needs a chance; we want to be positive role models for our youth and work with the parents and different organization to secure them a future tomorrow. We will talk to the kids and bring back the fundamentals of footballâ€.
Saturday’s event is being dubbed the “South Phoenix Youth Football, Cheer and Community Awareness Clinic.†The football clinic for the kids is free, but sponsorships and booth space for community organizations are also available. Information about sponsorships is online at hitmansportstraining.com, click on “Sign Ups.â€
Coach Gross says that by setting up a sponsorship station, businesses and community service organizations can meet the parents and visitors who will be supporting the youth. Sponsorship proceeds will go toward assisting young athletes who want to play football, but do not have the financial backing to do so.
For more information about the event and sponsorships call the office of Hitman Sports Training, 602-357-0033, and ask for Al Gross, Jr.
